Situational Leadership

It is a 8 hour training course.

  • 8am - 5pm

Very lively and hands on session. Trainers focus on teaching concepts as well applying them immidiately to real world problems.

Day 1

  • Welcome and Introductions

    Welcome participants, introduce ground rules and expectations. Ice breakers and introductions, funny anecdotes around problems faced in daily jobs.

  • Management vs. Leadership

    Interactive session to understand the difference between Management and Leadership ?

    Watch couple of videos to illustrate great leadership, followed by discussion. Discuss Servant Leadership.

  • Determine development levelDiagnosing

    Five key Diagnosis questions,

    • What is the specific goal or task?
    • How strong or good are the individual's demonstrated task knowledge and skills?
    • How strong or good are the individual's transferable skills?
    • How motivated, interested, or enthusiastic is the individual?
    • How confident/self-assured is the individual?

    Discuss four development levels D1, D2, D3, D4.

  • Lunch break

  • Matching Your Coaching Style to the Developmental LevelFlexibility

    The ability to use a variety of leadership styles comfortably.

    Four leadership styles,

    • High Directive, Low Supportive
    • High Directive, High Supportive
    • Low Directive, High Supportive
    • Low Directive, Low Supportive
  • Coffee/Bio break

  • Setting Goals/Action items/Follow UpsPartnering for Performance

    Discuss and practice various tools,

    • Partnering for Performance Worksheet
    • One on One Conversation Tool
  • Match/Mismatch Activity

    Make pairs and do the activity.

    Debrief and discuss results

  • Recap the conceptsAdjourn for the day

    Review concepts and activity results.

    Participants to give specific work situations where they can use the Situational Leadership immidiately.
